1. The Food Policy Toolkit - What is it?

The toolkit was creeated to provide local organizations with simple ways to incorporatefood policy quidelines into office decision making.  The three main topics that it addresses are: increasing local food sustainability, decreasing hunger through community capacity building, and improving nutritional health of community members.

Where/when can the Toolkit be used?

The toolkit was designed to appeal to all community members that are interested in making small changes int heir daily lives with regards to decisions around food (i.e. purchasing,  processing, growing, disposing of, etc).

2. Defining Food Policy - What is it?

This document is a quick one-page read on the three main topics that food policy can address: hunger, healthy eating, and buying locally. 

Where/when can it be used?

The one-pager was designed for ease of distribution.  It can be handed out at meetings, forums and community events.  Additionally, it is useful as a poster (i.e. post it on the office fridge or bullitin boards)
